Fill Your Cup

St Ignatius Primary School Toowong together with the women from St Ignatius Parish joined forces recently to host their inaugural Fill Your Cup Breakfast: Conversations and Community event. This event highlighted the strong culture, relationship and sense of community they are proud of between their school and parish.

Just ask any parent or staff member at St Ignatius and they will all tell you what stands out at St Ignatius is the strong sense of community that exists.

This was evident with the amazing turnout at the breakfast which gave the women of St Ignatius school and parish community, the chance to connect, celebrate and “fill their cups". Women who have known each other for years, and women who met for the first time gathered to “fill their cups" with wisdom and conversations around what sustains them physically, emotionally and spiritually in their busy lives. The end result was something so powerful – women feeling connection, joy and a deep sense of belonging.  Friends, neighbours, mums, daughters, grandmothers and colleagues formed deeper connections and new friendships between the school community, parish, the broader Toowong and Auchenflower community and women connected to their women-in-need outreach.

Letitia O'Loan – staff member:

“It was truly a magnificent event in every way.

The morning was not only a great success, but also a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose. The dedication of all that contributed to this event created a warm and welcoming space where our community could gather, connect, and celebrate the treasured relationship between our school and Parish.

Events like this do so much more than simply bring people together for a meal. They strengthen our sense of belonging, nurture friendships, and deepen the bonds that support our children, families, and faith community. That spirit was clearly felt by everyone who attended"

The morning was also a chance to celebrate women – in the spirit of International Women's Day - their strength, resilience, generosity and wisdom — and to support one another, particularly those who may be in need. The event also supported the Share the Dignity campaign - reminding us that dignity and compassion matter deeply, and that when women support women, meaningful change happens.

If you would like to experience the sense of community that St Ignatius has to offer, please join us for our Open Day on Wednesday 29 April 2026.
