Children are expected to attend school each school day of the school year. Irregular attendance can be disruptive to a child’s education.
Parents are required to contact the school by 9:00am advising if their child/ren will be late or will not be attending school. Preferably submit the absence through the BCE Connect App or Parent Portal. Alternatively email ptoowong@bne.catholic.edu.au and cc the teacher or call the office on 3371 1094.
It is the school policy to telephone or SMS parents if a student is absent and no notification has been received. It is expected that the parent/guardian will respond to this message. A follow-up phone call to parents/guardian (or emergency contact if necessary) will be made by 12pm should no contact have been made with the school.
If advance knowledge of absence is known, written communication with the class teacher is appreciated and office staff cc'd in at (ptoowong@bne.catholic.edu.au)
If a child is absent from school, the parents are asked to provide a note of explanation to the teacher either through an email to the office and teacher, the BCE Connect App or Parent Portal or inform the school by telephone on 3371 1094. It is mandatory that if a child is being taken out of school for a family holiday, trip overseas or other miscellaneous reasons, the parents must complete a flexible schooling arrangements form. The form must be returned to the school and is then kept on the child's file. A copy of this form can be found on the Parent Portal.
