The library is open every day for borrowing. You can also visit during lunch time each day - Monday to Friday. All classes have a scheduled borrowing time when the whole class visits the library however students are encouraged to pop in other times to change their books as often as they like.
Borrowing limits for students vary according to the child's year level:
Prep: 1 book from Junior Fiction
Year 1: 2 books from Junior Fiction
Year 2: 2 books - from any section of the library with one to be a fiction book
Year 3: 3 books - from any section of the library with one to be a fiction book
Year 4: 4 books - from any section of the library with one to be a fiction book
Year 5: 5 books - from any section of the library with one to be a fiction book
Year 6: 5 books - from any section of the library with one to be a fiction book
All books are borrowed for two weeks but can be extended if there are no reservations. If students want to extend books, they can come to the library and talk to Mrs Wilson or Mrs Daly.
Keeping Library books in a safe and consistent place at home will help children find them when they need them. Unfortunately books do occasionally get lost. If you think a book has been lost or damaged, please write or call us and let us know. We ask you to look at least one more time before giving up. because lost books “appear” in the most unusual places.
Check the library shelves to ensure that the item has not been returned. (It may not have been scanned or incorrectly scanned)
Ask your child's teacher to check to make sure it is not in the classroom books.
If all possibilities have been exhausted and the book cannot be located, parents may be asked to pay to replace the lost or damaged book.
Each week new books are put on display in the library . These can be reserved by speaking with Mrs Wilson or Mrs Daly. Books which are already on loan to other borrowers can also be reserved. Students will be able to borrow reserved books as they are returned and become available.
