Strict instructions have been issued to Schools concerning the administration of medication to children. Medication is given by a School Officer provided signed instructions from the medical practitioner are given, and a request is made by parents, in writing. The appropriate medical authority form must be signed by a medical practitioner and a parent. Additional forms may be collected from the school office. Non-prescribed oral medical, e.g. Panadol, can be administered under strict guidelines and only if an 'Authority for Administering Paracetamol in an Emergency' form has been filled out by the parent and given to the school.
